The Beat Doctor
My dad joined a band. He is now referred to as "The Beat Doctor." At his first gig, located in a bar in Jefferson City known as The Mission, there was a 45 minute wait to see him. My dad is cool.

I was tagged by my mom Terri from Lakewood Manor to play this little game. Since I liked getting to know her better from it, I decided to play, too!
So the game goes like this....I have to answer 5 questions with 5 answers and then tag 5 people. Except I'm not going to tag anyone, but you are more than welcome to copy this from me.
So here goes.
Question 1:
Where were you 5 years ago?
1. I was 18 years old.
2. I was getting ready to graduate from Jefferson City High School.
3. My biggest concern was whether to go to Stephens College or Columbia College.
4. I thought I wanted to major in Psychology.
5. I got my first car of my own, which I still have.
Question 2:
What is on your to do list today?
1. READ, I've never been assigned so much reading!
2. Work on the Museum Assessment Program Collections Management Assessment Self-Study Workbook (sounds exciting, I know)
3. Go to the doctor (pretty much a daily/weekly thing recently)
4. Call my dad and harass him about his Colonoscopy...which he was scared to have done until he found out his 24 year old daughter was having one at which point he thought he would man-up
5. READ, you have no idea how much I have to do.
Question 3:
What 5 snacks do you enjoy?
1. Doublestuf Oreos, with milk.
2. Granola Bars
3. Apples and peanut butter
4. Chocolate Milk (not just any Chocolate Milk...this Heaven-sent organic chocolate milk that tastes more like a melted milk shake....YUM)
5. Homemade Oatmeal cookies
Question 4: What 5 places have you lived?
1. I was born in Columbia and lived there until 3rd grade
2. We moved to the "country" (at least that is how I felt) called Jefferson City
3. For four years I lived on Stephens College campus with the Kappa Deltas
4. For one summer I lived in Florence, Italy
5. I now live with my husband in Columbia in a cute little duplex

What 5 things would you do if you were a billionaire?
1. Tell Eric to quit working and go to school full-time
2. Pay off my school loans and pay for Eric's school
3. Travel the entire world
4. Buy a house
5. Get a dog

Snow in MO
It snowed in Missouri this January. We had to buy our first shovel and use it in the same day. Check out Eric- he looks so domestic.
Pinochle
My parents were in town the other day and we couldn't figure out what to do. Eventually we decided we were going to play games but Eric and I didn't really have any fun, new games. My dad suggested we play Pinochle which he claimed he played as a young boy. We purchased the special Pinochle cards and started reading the rules. Holy Cow, Pinochle is complicated!!! We decided to just play and forget about strategy. Eric and I lost big time.
Pet update
I don't have the privilege of having pets of my own so I have to get "pet-time" when I visit my parents. And who wouldn't want pet-time with these cuties??
Girl Scouts
A few weeks ago, my mother-in-law, Renee, asked if I would be interested in attending a Girl Scout meeting in Eldon to help them earn their Wearable Arts badge and their Career badge. OF course I'd be interested! I planned three activities for the girls:
1) The first thing they did was design an outfit for a wooden doll I purchased for them. The trick: there were only four colors to work with. But these girls found amazing and creative ways to make great outfits out of just four colors!
2) Then they designed necklaces made out of candy. Each girl got a packet of candy beads and an elastic necklace and they could make their necklace however they wanted. They loved eating the beads but they made beautiful necklaces!

3) The last activity was playing dress-up!!!!! I LOVED playing dress up when I was their age....and apparently I still do! These are some of my favorite outfits....

Several dresses worn at the Golden Globes had details that I adored, even if the entire look didn't make my best or worst list.
Julia Roberts, in vintage Yves Saint Laurent with Van Cleef & Arpels jewels and Lanvin shoes- check out her necklace, it is beautiful!
Jeanne Tripplehorn, in Alberta Ferretti- This dress just sort of hangs on her, but those cuffs are amazing!
Jayma Mays, in Badgley Mischka- I hate the bodice of this dress, but the skirt detail is exquisite!
Drew Barrymore, in Atelier Versace with Lorraine Schwartz jewels and a Roger Vivier clutch- I love the shoulder on this dress! I couldn't take my eyes off of it...that is until I saw that horrific hip piece!
Marion Cotillard, in Christian Dior with Chopard jewels, a Roger Vivier clutch, and Jimmy Choo shoes- I love the cut and color of this gown.

The Worst Dressed at the Golden Globes
It was pretty difficult to choose ten dresses that I really hated, so there are more like my least favorites. Many of them would have been on my best dressed list if it hadn't been for a small detail.
Julianna Margulies, in Narciso Rodriguez with Fred Leighton jewels- I love the top of this dress and had it continued through the skirt it definitely would have made my best-dressed list. I just hate the contrast between the beautiful top and the really plain skirt.
Meryl Streep- This dress would have been fabulous if she hadn't worn that frumpy old belt!
Sigourney Weaver, in Hervé L. Leroux with Fred Leighton jewels- I usually adore red-heads who wear green, but this just doesn't work for her. I think the one shoulder strap is too thick and the bias cuts aren't accentuating her waist like they should.
Sophia Loren, in Armani Privé- I didn't have to think twice about this selection. She looks downright awful. From the side view you can tell the dress doesn't even fit her well.
Tina Fey, in Zac Posen with Fred Leighton jewels and a Christian Louboutin clutch- Tina, you are such a beautiful woman, why such an ugly dress?
Susan Geston and Jeff Bridges- this dress just doesn't flatter her.
Chloë Sevigny, in Valentino with Stephen Russell jewels and a Roger Vivier clutch- I love ruffles but this is just. too. much.
Christina Aguilera, in Versace- I almost loved this dress...I just can't get over the metallic bodice. It is too distracting.
Anna Kendrick, in Marchesa with Cartier jewels and a Leiber clutch- again, what is with the over-sized ruffle? I hate it!
Christina Hendricks, in Christian Siriano with a Christian Louboutin clutch and Loree Rodkin jewels- again with the really horrible oversized ruffle, but what makes this dress even worse is that it is way too close to the color of her skin, her boobs are about to fall out, and her make-up and hair color make her look downright scary.
