Discoveries

I'm starting a new series of posts called Discoveries. With this series I will share with you the new products I've tried, books I've read, movies I've seen, hobbies I've begun or things that I've found that I think you will enjoy too. I rarely label my posts, but these posts will all share the common label: Discovery.

The first product I want to feature in this series is the home french manicure kit by Sally Hansen.


The kit comes with three polishes: white for the tip, a soft color for the base of the nail, and clear for the top coat. I use Nearly Nude as the soft color for the base of the nail but other colors include French Shimmer, Sheerly Mauve, Sheerly Opal, Sheer Romance, and Sheer Mocha. The kit also includes adhesive guides to help the white tip make a smooth curve or straight line depending on your preference.

I know what you're thinking. You don't think you have a steady enough hand to do the french tip, I thought the same thing. But the guides are really helpful so you can make a sloppy mess while you're doing the white tip and still get a beautifully smooth french tip. I just do the french tip on my toes so I can use my right hand to do all the tips, then I use the soft color (Nearly Nude) on my finger nails.
